Detailed Job Description:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree in accounting is required. An MBA,
CPA or equivalent work experience in the field of
accounting is desirable. At least eight years of related
experience is required for the senior level. Excellent
communication, judgment and teamwork skills are
necessary. Individual should possess the ability to
perform multiple tasks simultaneously, along with a high
degree of initiative and ownership. Thorough knowledge
and experience of the MIB system processing and
structure is desirable. A strong knowledge of
accounting theory is required. Knowledge of Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) accounting is highly
desirable. Individual will need to be proficient in the
use of MS Office applications, especially Excel.
Individual must have the analytical thought process and
ability to perform a detailed review of complex
accounting information. The applicant should also have
a strong interest and desire in learning and applying
computer applications. A background in QMF queries is
highly desirable.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Individuals will perform responsibilities associated
with the preparation of the quarterly and annual federal
and state compliance filings including Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission's (FERC) Form 1, 3Q and 60. The
position directs a staff of three accountants. The
individual will also be involved in the preparation of
financial data for the NU system companies. These
responsibilities include all functions associated with
monthly closing process (journal entries, error
correction, special billings, etc.). They also include
balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and
various special projects.
